  • BARCS: British Association of Radio Control Soarers. Founded back in the early 1970’s by a bunch of keen and enthusiastic soarers, all well known names at the time for their involvement in thermal and slope soaring.
  • BMFA: British Model Flying Association. They are the National Governing Body for the sport of model flying. Its aims are to promote, protect, organise and encourage model flying within the UK. Typically there are around 780 affiliated clubs and a combined membership of over 36,000 members, all of whom have entered a partnership to ensure that model fliers have a voice and their rights are recognised by the authorities.
  • CAA: Civil Aviation Authority. They are responsible for all civil flying activities in the UK, including model aircraft.

  • PicaSim: This site provides information and download for a flight simulator of radio controlled aircraft. It concentrates mainly on gliders, but it has a few other aircraft too.You can get it for free (no ads etc) on Android, or so-cheap-it's-nearly-free on the Apple app store, or free-but-donate-if-you-like-it on Windows.
  • RC Groups: RCGroups.com is an online discussion site. It's sometimes also called a 'board' or 'forum'. It contains several categories, consisting of forums, threads and individual posts.
