The West Mendip Soaring Association (WMSA) is a club whose members love to build and fly radio controlled model gliders.

Our primary flying site is near the top of Crook Peak, a famous landmark overlooking the M5 motorway that cuts through the western end of the Mendip Hills that run between Weston-Super-Mare and Cheddar. Look at our Location page for details of how to find this beautiful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

If you are new to radio controlled model gliding or want to find out more about possibly learning to fly a radio controlled model glider, then please contact one of the WMSA committee members on the Contact Us page. Any of the committee will be more than happy to answer any of your questions.

Should you wish to become a member of the WMSA, then details of the cost of membership can be found on our Join Us page.

We currently hold two open cross-country competitions each year. Anyone can enter an open event (subject to satisfactory third party insurance). A list of this season's open events and previous results can be found on the Events pages.

We also try to run up to nine club competitions each year for WMSA members only. These competitions are not as difficult as open competitions, but are designed to improve flying skills of our members. Competitions dates can be found on the calendar page.

Our photo gallery pages show images and videos of some of the models we fly, some of our members, open competitions and the beautiful area in which we fly our models.
